Trees and vegetation contrast enduring structures (trunk, woody elements) with continuously changing conditions (light, weather) and slower changes (seasons, growth, decline). The subject gives us plenty to work with formally, but our primary interest is in how it allows for an extended and intensive analytic process, a way of thinking, looking, and making.
